What This Agent Does

Compares custodian-held quantities against the internal book of record position by position, calculates a valuation break where quantities or prices diverge, and is corporate-action aware — distinguishing a real quantity break from a valuation-only difference caused by pending corporate actions or pricing-source lag. This is Parity's custody/position reconciliation module competing with TLM and IntelliMatch.

Worked Examples

• HSBA (HSBC Holdings) at Euroclear: internal book shows 84,200 shares vs custodian's 83,700, a 500-share break worth £3,210.00 — flagged as a genuine quantity break, offering "Align to Custodian."
• SIEGY (Siemens AG) at Clearstream: quantities match exactly at 2,100 but the row is still flagged "warning" with a €412.00 valuation break — a price/valuation discrepancy separate from a quantity break.
• BABA (Alibaba Group) at DTC: 9,800 internal vs 9,300 custodian, the largest break on the page at $41,500.00 — the agent would prioritize this as the highest-dollar-value item in the queue.
